Reorganisation of the distribution network

 
1. Analysis of the present model of distribution network
  • Identification and analysis of transport processes in the present distribution network,
  • Determination of goods streams and the development of a map of their flows,
  • Estimation of the total distribution costs based on:
    • the costs of (local and direct) distribution,
    • the costs of line travels,
    • the costs of cross-docking (the operation of reloading platforms),
    • the costs of courier deliveries,
      based on market-based carriage rates and the optimisation of the existing model.

2. Design of a new model of distribution network

  • Spatial reorganisation of the distribution network,
  • Optimisation of the local distribution in the SkyLogic system and the transfer of the result of the analysis to the whole cost-based model of distribution,
  • Estimation of the total distribution costs based on:
    • the costs of (local and direct) distribution,
    • the costs of line travels,
    • the costs of cross-docking (the operation of reloading platforms),
    • the costs of courier deliveries,
      based on market-based carriage rates and the optimum situation of reloading platforms and routes,
  • Calculation of the costs of local and direct distribution for different options of delivery implementation (simulations in SkyLogic):
    • differentiation of delivery execution times for different regions or segments of customers ABC,
    • selection of a varying size fleet,
    • introduction of the logistics minimum.

3. Analysis of the simulations results – suggested solutions

  • Analysis of the factors affecting the costs of an enterprise,
  • Construction of a cost-based model of an enterprise and the implementation of a simulation for:
    • the present cost-based model,
    • a new cost-based model,
  • Recommendation of a solution, taking into account:
    • the minimum distribution costs,
    • the risk related to the variability of distribution costs in time.
