In 2013, Benson Consultants started a complex project to implement the SkyLogic system at the Company Farmutil SA, in order to automate and  optimise the field of waste management logistics, while, at the same time, meeting the requirements of the new Act. The scope of the project encompasses the transport logistics processes and their settlement. As a result of its implementation, Farmutil intends to automate the processes, acquire accurate knowledge about the transport costs and reduce them, due to the optimisation opportunities. The customer is also committed to applying modern solutions in the communication with drivers and customers, implementing PDA devices. 
The Agricultural and Industrial Enterprise “Farmutil HS" S.A. collects, transports and disposes of side products of animal origin. A large logistics base and a wide range of specialist transport vehicles ensure an easy and quick collection of raw materials from all over the country. "Farmutil HS"  S.A.  cooperates with more than a thousand plants of the meat and breeding industries, as well as private suppliers.
So far the planning  process has required the involvement and specialist knowledge of qualified human resources of the Company Farmutil. Because of the actions taken under the pressure of time, the need to take into account many items of information in planning and the requirements of the Act on Waste Management, the decisions taken cannot be completely optimum ones. This was discerned by the Board of the Company Farmutil; therefore, it decided that it was necessary for its employees to be supported by an IT system in their everyday line operations. 
​The new IT system consolidates and helps to manage the company as a whole, starting with the Call-Center Department (the submission of orders), through the Human Resources Management Department (settlements with drivers, vehicle logs, per diems, bonuses, remunerations), the Logistics Department (planning, optimisation, fleet management, the management of drivers, repairs, excessive fuel consumption, refuelling) and the Audit Department (reports, analyses). 
Given the dynamic situation caused by incessant changes of routes as the result of an inflow of new orders, the project was based on the communication with drivers through mobile devices. On an ongoing basis, routes which have been planned and optimised in terms of costs are adjusted, the driver’s work time is recalculated and the drivers are informed about the new plans of routes. Such a changing reality also makes it necessary to improve the communication with customers by proactively informing them about the planned visits. 
SkyLogic will also manage the containers which are left on the customers’ sites. All the reports and documents (consistent with the template in effect under the Act) will be generated automatically from the SkyLogic system.
By choosing the SkyLogic system the Company Farmutil intends to achieve:
  1. Rationalisation of vehicles use and cost optimisation of routes.
  2. Automation of the vehicle routes planning process.
  3. Transport costs analyses in relation to vehicles, branches and customers.
  4. Improvements in the system responsible for managing the driver’s work time and enhanced control of the fleet utilisation.
  5. Introduction of on-line communication with the driver using PDA devices mounted in the vehicle.
